About Rev. Amy Kheng

Rev. Amy Kheng
(Kheng: Sounds the same as the “Kang” in “Kangaroo”)

Amy is from the Central Valley, CA. Amy is fourth generation A/G missionary. Her parents Bill and LaVonne pastored various churches in Northern and Central California until the door was opened in 1997 when they went out as missionaries to the Philippines. Bill and LaVonne Boyer serve as A/G missionaries as the Vice President and Dean of Students at Bethel Bible College and also work with Teen Challenge, feeding programs, a battered women’s home, a home for street children along with serving various boards and other ministry endeavors.

While attending a very culturally diverse high school she lead two different Campus ministries that saw about 60-80 students begin relationships with Christ. Amy went on to Vanguard University to complete a BA in Inter-Cultural Studies. She then spent 2 years serving in Communist Laos as an English teacher until the government refused to renew A/G visas.

In 2004 Amy went to Cambodia to work with the Lao-speaking people who lived in northern Cambodia. Amy lived with the people of the villages and learned the Lao dialect that was spoken in the area and their way of life. It was here that Amy and Sopheak first met. In 2006 Sopheak and Amy realized their ministries and visions were very much the same. Amy moved to the US for furlough, shortly after this relationship began. In 2007 they were married and began a ministry to the Cambodian people of Southern California.
